Connecticut Rams Elite 12U Team: For those players and families looking for a professionally coached “elite” team to play in tournaments against the highest level competition against some of the best programs in the northeast region. Tournament play is the focus of this team and will occur over many weekends throughout the year (roughly 5 games a weekend) with the most play during the summer months. The overall goal of the program is to develop girls into the best players they can be with the strongest possible understanding of the game for their age. 

A tournament player should begin to exhibit and want to reach the next level of:

  • Strong emotional control and the ability to cope with stress or failure
  • Game sense / decision making
  • Understanding of game situations
  • Power, Speed, Coordination, Arm Strength, and Bat Speed
  • Advanced technical skills in Hitting, Fielding, Throwing, Short game and Base-running

The CT Rams are planning the following for the 2019-20 season:

  • (2) Fall Tournaments  - with practices 1-2x week
  • (1) Winter Tournament - with practices 1x week plus pitcher/catchers 1x week
  • (3-4) Spring Tournaments (some of these will be overnight, or multi-night events) - with outdoor practice 2-3x per week
  • (TBD) FCFSL League Games will vary. Used for tune-ups before tourney play
  • (4-6) Summer Tournaments (some of these will be overnight, or multi-night events during weekends). USSSA & USA tourneys to be selected in early 2020.

Participants: CT Rams tryouts are open to New Canaan players and players from neighboring communities.  The CT Rams Tournament team will carry a higher percentage of non-New Canaan girls than our NC Rams Travel team.

Coaching: The CT Rams will maintain two professional coaches on staff including Rita Jagodzinski (see bio). The team will also be professionally instructed by Pam Mazzarella (see bio),  Kara Orr (see bio) and Alex Miller (see bio).  Team management and oversight is managed by Nick DiMuzio, a parent within the program.

Location:  Practices to be held at Waveny Park in New Canaan throughout the Fall, Spring and Summer. Winter into Spring training location TBA and will include strength & conditioning classes, skills clinics, pitching/catcher training as well as team practices.
